One more Asian food restaurant in Bandra! Sweet Lord, they’re mushrooming all over the place. The newest one to come to town is Wok Express. Owned by Lenexis Foodworks Pvt. Ltd., the restaurant is relatively new, only a month old. It can be found on busy street of Pali Naka, right next to one more Asian food home, 5Spice.
I’m going to keep this short.
The ambience is not exactly worthy of a compliment but it’s clean, so I won’t complain. On our menu were – Edamame and truffle dumplings, Udon noodles in a chili basil sauce, rice and vegetables in a teriyaki sauce and a pink guava bubble tea. (You can take a look at the menu here – https://www.zomato.com/mumbai/wok-express-pali-hill-bandra-west/menu#tabtop .)
The dumplings served piping hot were quite a treat. The perfect mix of edamame and truffles, they required no extra sauce for flavour. The bubble tea was like a usual iced tea, not rave worthy, but the rice, oh that rice! BRILLIANT! I can’t seem to remember the last time I had such a great, fresh teriyaki sauce. The vegetables were fresh, perfectly crunchy, topped with the right amount of burnt garlic and uber fresh cilantro. This one is a must have. The Udon noodles were a little heavy on the palate and the chili basil also failed to impress. I could only taste the chili. It lacked every bit of basil.
I do however think that of all the Asian food restaurants in Bandra, Wok Express does a much better job in terms of quality of the food, efficiency in service, hygiene factors of the restaurant and pricing. I would recommend the place to a friend.
